Andrew Kapp

Founding Partner

Andrew Kapp is a Founding Partner and member of the Investment Committee at Northampton Capital Partners. He brings 25 years of prior experience as a demonstrated investor in infrastructure spanning his tenure at Citi in Structured Finance, ArcLight Capital, J.P. Morgan Asset Management and Carlyle. Mr. Kapp has sponsored, underwritten and led more than $4.6 billion of equity investments in infrastructure across power, energy and transportation and served on over 15 company portfolio boards.

Prior to joining Northampton, Mr. Kapp was a Partner and Managing Director with Carlyle’s Infrastructure business based in New York from 2022-2024, with management and oversight over investments spanning renewables, digital, energy and transportation.

From 2014-2022, Mr. Kapp led power and energy investments in the Americas for J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s open-ended infrastructure fund. During his time with J.P. Morgan Asset Management, Infrastructure Investments Fund grew from $3 billion to over $30 billion in NAV investing across Power, Energy, Utilities and GDP-sensitive asset classes. during a period of high growth. As a Managing Director with J.P. Morgan, Mr. Kapp was a member of the Senior Team and the Risk Committee.

Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr. Kapp was a Vice President with ArcLight Capital Partners, an energy investment firm, from 2006-2013, focused on investing in power, renewables, midstream, and energy logistics businesses.

Mr. Kapp began his infrastructure career in 2001, spending five years in the Asset Finance and Infrastructure & Energy Finance groups with Citi, structuring and arranging complex debt and equity financings across power, energy, commodities, natural resources and hard assets globally.

Mr. Kapp earned a B.A. degree in Economics from Duke University with a minor in Computer Science.
