Geoffrey Strong

Mr. Strong is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”) and member of the Investment Committee of Northampton Capital Partners. He is a demonstrated investor, portfolio manager, and leader with over 20 years of experience and a highly successful infrastructure investing track record that spans more than $4 billion deployed across more than 30 infrastructure investments. He has served on more than 20 boards of portfolio companies, has been a member of several fund investment committees, and an identified “key person” in multiple fund vehicles. He is highly experienced in all facets of the investment business, including fundraising, sourcing, conducting due diligence, executing and negotiating deals, capital structure, asset management, fund reporting and operations, risk management, and portfolio construction.

Mr. Strong’s investing experience has spanned multiple industries and sectors, but his primary focus has been infrastructure investing. Within infrastructure funds, he was a named leader of or otherwise integral to have invested across the spectrum, including power and renewables, utilities, communications, and transportation.

Prior to founding Northampton, Mr. Strong was a Senior Partner and Global Co-Head of Infrastructure and Natural Resources at Apollo where he led many of the firm’s investments in infrastructure and oversaw an infrastructure team of over 25 investment professionals. During his tenure at Apollo, Mr. Strong worked closely with Northampton Partners Corinne Still and John MacWilliams, as well as Northampton Operating Partners Jeff Hunter and Rich DiMichele.

Prior to joining Apollo in 2012, Mr. Strong worked in the Private Equity and Infrastructure groups at Blackstone. He was one of the initial members of Blackstone Infrastructure Partners and was involved in multiple infrastructure investments that formed the initial track record of that business.

Before Blackstone, he was a Vice President and investment professional at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, the private equity business within Morgan Stanley.

Mr. Strong graduated summa cum laude with a BS in business administration from Western Oregon University, graduated cum laude with a JD from Lewis & Clark College, and graduated with an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business where he was a Joseph Wharton Fellow. Mr. Strong also serves as a member of the Wharton Alumni Board.
